As a result of this work, Dr Tana Fishman and I have created the ‘Augmentin-free office’ where, if a doctor wants to prescribe Augmentin, he or she needs to explain the clini-cal circumstances to a colleague to get their ‘permission’ to prescribe it. This reinforces with students that it is a very broad spectrum drug that should be used with caution.
